Pro­fess­or Ber­ger ist ein inter­na­tion­al renom­miert­er Schied­srichter mit über 30 Jahren Erfahrung in der nationalen und inter­na­tionalen Wirtschaftsschieds-gerichts­barkeit.

Er leitet und sitzt als  Mitschied­srichter in Schieds­ver­fahren aus unter­schied­lich­sten Indus­triez­wei­gen, von inter­na­tionalen Han­dels­ver­trä­gen über lang­fristige Energie‑, Anla­gen­bau und Infrastruk­tur­pro­jekte bis hin zu Post‑M&A- sow­ie nationalen und inter­na­tionalen Fin­an­zmarkt­streitigkeiten.

Seine Expert­ise wird durch ver­schiedene Rank­ings (Band 1 in Cham­bers and Part­ners, Lex­o­logy) bestätigt.

Pro­fess­or Ber­ger ver­fügt über umfassende Erfahrung in der Anwendung ver­schieden­er Schied­sord­nun­gen (z.B. DIS, ICC, LCIA, Swiss Rules, VIAC, UNCITRAL) sow­ie Recht­sord­nun­gen des Civil Law und des Com­mon Law. 

Sein Ansatz als Schied­srichter ist prag­mat­isch, fair und eff­iz­ient, mit dem Ziel, wirtschaft­liche Streitigkeiten recht­lich fundiert  und stets unter Ber­ück­sich­ti­gung der Interessen aller Parteien beizule­gen.

Die Arbeitss­prac­hen von Pro­fess­or Ber­ger sind Deutsch und Eng­lisch. Er ver­fügt außer­dem über Lesekom­pet­enz in Fran­zös­isch und Nieder­ländisch.

Pro­fess­or Ber­ger is an inter­na­tion­ally renowned arbit­rat­or with more than 30 years of exper­i­ence in nation­al and inter­na­tion­al com­mer­cial arbit­ra­tion. 

He presides over and sits as co-arbit­rat­or in arbit­ra­tion pro­ceed­ings cov­er­ing a wide range of indus­tries, from inter­na­tion­al trade con­tracts to long term energy and infra­struc­ture pro­jects, post‑M&A and nation­al and inter­na­tion­al fin­an­cial mar­kets dis­putes.

His expert­ise is con­firmed by vari­ous rank­ings (Band 1 on Cham­bers and Part­ners, Lex­o­logy).

Pro­fess­or Ber­ger has extens­ive exper­i­ence with vari­ous arbit­ra­tion rules (e.g. DIS, ICC, LCIA, Swiss Rules, VIAC, UNCITRAL) and with gov­ern­ing laws from both the civil law and com­mon law world.

His approach as an arbit­rat­or is prag­mat­ic, fair and effi­cient, with the aim of resolv­ing com­mer­cial dis­putes on a sound leg­al basis and always tak­ing into account the interests of all parties involved.

Pro­fess­or Ber­ger­’s work­ing lan­guages are Ger­man and Eng­lish. He also has read­ing pro­fi­ciency in French and Dutch.
